The body of Malaysian journalist Claudia Theophilus, which was supposed to arrive at 3pm on Saturday, touched down at KL International Airport at 9.40pm the same day instead.

Umno Youth Community Complaints Bureau chairman Datuk Muhd Khairun Aseh said it arrived on an EK 342 Emirates Airlines flight from Dubai International Airport.

The body will be sent to her home in Taman Desa Kepayang, Seremban, for last respects to be paid before being brought to Visitation Church in Seremban at 10am on Monday before burial, he said.

Claudia, 42, a producer for Al-Jazeera based in Doha, Qatar, was believed to have been killed by a stray bullet last Saturday during an incident in Baakleen, a mountainous region in Lebanon, while she was with two Lebanese friends.

She had also worked for The Sun newspaper and Malaysiakini news portal.
