The Member of Parliament for Gua Musang, Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah has contributed a boat to residents of Kampung Kuala Lah, here as a preparation to face the floods.
The fibreglass boat, which can carry five people, was given away by the special representative of the Nenggiri Assemblyman, Ahmad Karmizi Jalil to the residents' representative, Zakaria Omar, 51.
Ahmad Karmizi said Tengku Razaleigh sympathised with the villagers who had previously been trapped in their homes during the big floods as there was no boat to take them to the relief centres.
Karmizi disclosed this to reporters after representing Tengku Razaleigh in handing over the boat to the people at Kampung Kuala Lah, today.
Meanwhile, Zakaria said he and the villagers were thankful to Tengku Razaleigh for donating the boat which enabled them to evacuate earlier to the relief centre.
