AFTER almost a week, the 448,677 Year One pupils who commenced their schooling session should start to settle in already.

These pupils, admitted to 7,765 primary schools nationwide, comprised 229,808 boys and 218,869 girls.

For the returning students, going back to school can be somewhat melancholic. Although it signifies the end of holidays, the idea of reuniting with friends and learn new things in class is something to look forward to.

The feeling, however, might not be mutual for parents as the 'honeymoon' period is now over and it's back to waking up early every morning!
