Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman has given Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad a week to apologise and retract his 'sial' remark.
Deputy Agriculture and Agro-based Industries Minister Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman has given Shah Alam Member of Parliament Khalid Samad a week to apologise and retract his 'sial' remark at the Dewan Rakyat.
"I have spoken to my lawyer and the letter will be issued tomorrow," he said when met at the Parliament lobby today.
"The Speaker had made a decision and I don't want to cause him further trouble. There are many more important things to be discussed in the Parliament," he added.
Yesterday, Tajuddin had addressed Teresa Kok (DAP-Seputeh) as "the only woman with 'kok’ in Seputeh parliamentary".
Tajuddin uttered the word in his response to an additional question by Datuk Mahfuz Omar (PAS-Pokok Sena) on the government’s effort in raising the bar of local rice production in relative of imported rice.
The remark triggered a loud protest from several Opposition MPs, who demanded Tajuddin to retract his statement.

No action was taken on the Pasir Salak MP as ‘kok’ was an apparent reference to Teresa’s family name.
Khalid who was clearly unhappy with the decision stood intervened and called Tajuddin ‘sial’.
He later told that he will not retract the curse word 'sial' unless the minister retracts his statement on Teresa Kok.
