The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) denied allegations that its officer was involved in a sexual abuse and domestic violence case that went viral on social media since yesterday.

MACC said police investigations revealed that the allegations were not true.

"A police report will be lodged against the Facebook account that distributed the video clip and news on the matter," it said in a statement today.

The statement said it would be unfair to the MACC when the public starts forming negative perceptions by linking its officers with domestic issues.

The Facebook account owner, among others, claimed that the MACC officer had abused his children as well as uploaded photos and videos allegedly related to the said case.

However, the post had been deleted following the MACC statement. --BERNAMA
