AG report : Kelantan has not completed 15 development projects under 10MP for 2012

The Kelantan government has not completed 15 development projects under the Tenth Malaysia Plan (10MP) for 2012.
The Third Series of the Auditor-General's Report 2012 states that the projects were under the purview of the Office of the Menteri Besar (MB) and State Secretary (SS), State Forestry Department, State Public Works Department (PWD), State Treasury and State Development Office.
Besides that, the Kelantan governnment has also not started five projects including the construction of a bridge across the Tanah Merah town railway tracks and upgrading of the Landak T-junction in Kota Bharu, planned by the State PWD.
The audit also found that additional work on the bedrooms at Istana Negeri, building of a driving range at the palace and proposed upgrading of the golf course under the purview of the Office of the MB and SS to have not commenced.
However, the Kelantan government has completed 6,435 projects under 10MP.
Meanwhile, the audit found the expenditure on development projects in the state to be less that satisfactory as only 62.6 per cent of the RM277.91 million allocated had been spent.
A total sum of RM174.01 million was spent by nine state departments, with the State Treasury and Office of the MB and SS accounting for the lowest at 32.4 per cent and 74.9 per cent respectively.
It was found that the State Treasury only spent RM37.28 million of the RM115 million allocated while the Office of the MB and SS spent RM45.80 million from the RM61.13 million allocated for 501 projects.
