A total of 7.6 million recipients of Bantuan Prihatin Nasional (BPN) have received the aid for the second phase of payments totalling RM3.41 billion as of May 17.

Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz said the payment was 93 per cent of the allocation for the second phase of the aid.

He said the Ministry of Finance was committed in settling the balance of payments to beneficiaries promptly.

"Following the extension of the appeal period last week, the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRB) is actively processing the appeals that are pending and giving due consideration.

"Applicants are advised to submit an appeal as soon as possible before the closing date of the appeal which has been extended until May 31," he said through the sharing of the sixth report on the implementation of the Prihatin Rakyat Economic Stimulus Package (PRIHATIN) which was broadcast live on his official Facebook account today.
