A study conducted by the Merdeka Center has found 69 per cent of Malaysians are satisfied with the performance of Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
Based on 3,415 survey respondents, nine out of 10 Malays and natives of Sabah and Sarawak expressed their satisfaction.
Meanwhile, 65 per cent of Indian respondents and 33 percent of Chinese respondents gave a positive response to Muhyiddin's performance.
The level of support for the Prime Minister has increased since he held the post in March.
The Federal government also received positive response with 58 per cent of voters satisfied with the performance of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration while 28 per cent were dissatisfied.
Meanwhile, the study also showed the income gap played an important role in determining their level of satisfaction to the government.
About three-quarters of the respondents who obtained a household income of less than RM2,000 each gave a positive response to the government while only 40 per cent of those with a household income of more than RM7,000 per month gave a positive response.
Muhyiddin was officially appointed as the eighth Prime Minister on March 1.
He who is also the president of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) took the oath of office before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.
The Ceremony of Awarding the Instrument of Appointment and Oath of Office and Loyalty as well as the Oath of Secrecy as the Prime Minister took place at the Singgahsana Kecil Hall, Istana Negara.
