410 individuals arrested on Labour Day for violating MCO

The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) arrested more than 410 individuals for violating the Movement Control Order (MCO) on Friday which was also Labour Day.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, the number showed a decrease compared to 683 arrests the previous day (Thursday).
"It comprises 372 individuals who have been remanded and 38 others who were released on police bail. The total number of cumulative arrests for violating the MCO until May 1, 2020 (yesterday) was 23,266 individuals," he said at a daily press conference here today.
Ismail Sabri said the PDRM together with the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) had set up 820 roadblocks nationwide and inspected 486,307 vehicles.
A total of 35,834 surprise inspections were also conducted nationwide with 7,605 premises being inspected by the authorities on Friday.
Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) had implemented 5,136 sanitation operations including 83 areas in the yellow zone and the red zone nationwide. It included 22 red and yellow zones involving six states.
"(As of March 30), a total of 8,769 government premises, business premises and public areas were disinfected,” he added.
