A two-hour storm struck several areas here last night, damaging the roofs of 307 houses.

The affected areas were Kelewek, Bukit Tebu, Banggol, Jalan Klinik, Pondok Lama, Jalan Wan Ahmad, Taman Kenanga and Jalan Kubur.
Kampung Manal Tiga resident Haris Abbas said during the incident, his two sons and a daughter, aged between 13 and 17, took shelter at a neighbour's house as their house was damaged.
"At that time, my wife and I were away. We rushed home after being informed by a neighbour that a storm had struck our area," he said when met at his residence here.
Haris, 49, estimated his losses at RM10,000, which included the ripped roof of the house.
Tanah Merah UMNO division deputy head, Mohd Bakri Mustapha said most of the 307 houses were slightly damaged during the storm. - BERNAMA
