3 killed, 9 injured in two-vehicle collision in Temerloh

Three women, including a mother and daughter, were killed and nine others were injured in an accident involving a car and a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) at KM22 of the Jalan Temerloh-Jerantut near Kampung Tekal here, Sunday.
Temerloh Fire and Rescue Department chief Hashnuddin Hussin said in the 5pm accident, the driver of the Proton Wira car and Toyota Avanza (MPV) sustained severe injuries while seven children, who were the passengers in both vehicles, sustained slight injuries.
The deceased, Maimunah Mohd Sidek, 62, and her daughter, Ilyana Abd Kadir, 39, were the passengers of the car while the passenger of the MPV, who was a teacher, has not yet been identified.
The injured victims have also not yet been identified.
"The accident occurred when the driver of the car carrying seven people, including four children, lost control of the vehicle before it skidded and collided head-on with the MPV, carrying five people, including three children.
"The car was on its way from Temerloh to Jengka while the MPV was heading in the opposite direction," he said when contacted.
Hashnuddin said all of the victims were sent to the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital.
