Twenty-seven people were round-up in a special Aidilfitri operation last night and three of them were detained after they tested positive for drug, Perlis Selatan National Anti-Drug Agency enforcement officer Anizan Romli said.
He said the three men, aged between 21 and 42, tested positive for methamphetamine and would be charged under the Drug Dependents (Treatment and Rehabilitation) Act.
The two-hour operation, which started at 9.30 pm and involved the Road Transport Department and several other agencies, was conducted at Behor Temak, he said when met after the operation.
Meanwhile, State Transport committee chairman Asmaiza Ahmad, who was also involved in the operation, said a total of 2,315 vehicles were stopped for inspection during the operation.
Three motorcycles were impounded under Section 64(1) and Section 108 of the Road transport Act 1987, he added.
