Kuala Lumpur deputy police chief Datuk law Hong Soon said the police are also working closely with the Immigration Department and the Malaysian Highway Authority to locate Morais.
Police said they have recorded statement from 15 individuals to assist in the kidnapping of Attorney-General Chambers’ Appellate and Trial Division deputy chief Anthony Kevin Morais.
Kuala Lumpur CID chief Datuk Zainuddin Ahmad said the 15 include Morais' housemate, colleagues and family members.
He said the police are still scrutinising the CCTV footage in their investigation of the abducted Morais.
“The burnt car we have not identified yet. Suspect is still being investigated,” he said adding that the police are still waiting for the report from the Forensics Unit and Chemistry Department.
Meanwhile, Kuala Lumpur deputy police chief Datuk law Hong Soon said the police are also working closely with the Immigration Department and the Malaysian Highway Authority to locate Morais.
"We will look into every aspect in conducting the investigation," he told reporters after the monthly assembly of Kuala Lumpur Police at the headquarters today.
“Anyone who has any information of the case, do come forward to assist in our investigation. Anyone who knows anything or seen anything, come forward,” he added.
Morais was reported to have been missing since last Friday and on Monday, police formed a special task force, led by Zainuddin himself, to investigate the matter.
Morais was reported last seen leaving his apartment at Menara Duta, Kuala Lumpur on Friday for his office in Putrajaya.
He was also reported to be driving a grey Proton Perdana with registration number WA6264Q.
The case is being investigated under Section 365 of the Penal Code.
Two days after Morais went missing, a burnt car was found at an oil palm plantation in Kampung Sungai Samak but police said no items were found in the vehicle, which resembled a Proton Perdana and Honda Accord, that can be linked to the missing officer.
The villager who discovered the burnt car in Hutan Melintang, claimed that the car was still burning when he stumbled upon it Saturday morning.
