A total of 1,263 supervisors of the Community Development Department (Kemas) will have their posts upgraded effective July 1, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today.
The move is in line with the restructuring exercise of the government agency, he said when making the announcement at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) here.
"Some 920 Kemas supervisors of various branches will be upgraded from grade S17 to S22, 164 grade S17 Kemas pre-school supervisors upgraded to S27," he said at the Premier Gathering of Kemas Personnel in conjunction with the 'Hari Pendidik 2016' celebration.
Also involved are 178 Kemas senior supervisors to be upgraded from S22 to S27.
"A state Kemas Chief Senior Supervisor also will be upgraded from S27 to S32," he added.
Najid said he hoped the improvement could enhance the commitment of Kemas personnel to achieve national success.
"Hopefully, with the announcement of the upgrading as a continuous improvement process, Kemas personnel will get a new breath of life to become more productive and competitive to strive for national success," he said.
At the function, Najib recorded his appreciation for the contributions made by Kemas personnel especially in the interior areas.
"Whenever I go down to the interior areas, the first people I meet are the red-shirted Kemas personnel. Thank you Kemas for helping the government," he said.
