Veteran actor Kuswadinata, or his real name Kuswadi Bujang, died at Ampang Hospital here today at the age of 74 after suffering from colon cancer and kidney problems.

According to Malaysian Artistes' Association (Seniman) president, Zed Zaidi, Kuswadinata breathed his last at about 5pm and his remains would be brought to his home at No.7, Jalan Rasmi 1, Taman Rasmi Jaya, Ampang, Selangor later today.

The body will be taken to Bukit Indah Mosque for prayers at 8am tomorrow, he told Bernama.

Kuswadinata left behind a wife Kamariah Mohd Said, 57, and four children, Jasmine, 27, Hafsham, 26, Irwan, 25 and Rizal, 23.

The Singapore-born actor began his acting career in 1957 with Cathay Keris film production company.

Among his films are Ibu Mertuaku, Antara Dua Darjat, Lang Buana and Gerak Khas 3.
