"American Horror Story" (AHS) veteran Jessica Lange has confirmed she is calling it quits on the Emmy-winning FX series and will not star the show's fifth season next October.
Lange, who already has four "AHS" seasons under her belt, revealed the news at the "AHS" PaleyFest panel in Los Angeles Sunday night.
According to Deadline, the actress said that while she has "absolutely loved" playing her multiple characters on the show -- which have included a nun, a mysterious Southern belle and the reigning witch of a coven -- she's done.
"Yes, I'm done," she told the audience, "We've had a great run here. I have absolutely loved doing these four characters that I've had the opportunity to play. In all the madness, I've loved the writers, my actors, Ryan and the whole, I mean, insanity of it, shooting here, shooting in new orleans, the stories, everything."
During her time with "AHS," Lange has won two Emmys, a Golden Globe and a SAG award for her various characters.
Lange's departure comes as "White Collar" star Matthew Bomer and Lady Gaga prepare to join the AHS cast, with Bomer announced as the male lead for the fifth series.
"30 Rock" star Cheyenne Jackson will also join the new 13-episode season, titled "American Horror Story: Hotel."
