South Indian actor, Kamal Hassan hopes that Malaysia will lift the ban on his movie, “Vishwaroopam” soon.
“I am sad that some other countries are yet to release the movie, especially Malaysia and Dubai. It will be good if they allow it to be screened,” he said.
"It is a good movie and everyone should watch it," Kamal Hassan, 58, was reported to have said at a press conference in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
The controversial spy thriller movie, written, directed and produced by him, hit a roadblock after objections from members of Muslim organisations.
After much negotiation, he agreed to make certain alterations. The movie finally hit 500 over theatres in Tamil Nadu on Feb 7.
In Malaysia, the movie was released as scheduled on Jan 24, but was pulled out on Friday Jan 25 noon onwards after a directive from Home Ministry.
It was reported that the movie would be screened in Malaysia with 16 cuts, but the date is yet to be announced.
Kamal Hassan also said the sequel " Vishwaroopam-2" would be released this year as well.
