The Italian luxury label has unveiled more about its campaign featuring Scarlett Johansson and Matthew McConaughey, including photos from the set and a backstage video.

Forty-three-year-old actor Matthew McConaughey and 28-year-old actress Scarlett Johansson star in a new print campaign for Dolce & Gabbana's men's and women's fragrances The One.

First launched in 2006 (and followed up by a men's version in 2008) The One has been previously represented in ads by the two stars, but they have never been combined into the same storyline.

The Italian fashion designers hired photographic legend Peter Lindbergh to shoot the campaign: "the shots taken for the campaign bring out the natural ease and beauty of the actors in a way that only Peter Lindbergh can," explained Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.

Inspired by the classic Italian cinema of the 1960s, Johansson plays a young star on the hunt for love. "Scarlett is the embodiment of The One woman," added Domenico Dolce.

"She lives and breathes every womanly nuance. She exudes desire and innocence. She is both sobriety and sensuality.

There is innocence in her eyes yet her smile is laced with mischief. She is a talented actress and a beautiful woman."

Meanwhile, McConaughey plays an older Hollywood screen icon in the style of Marcello Mastroianni, chased by paparazzi and women wherever he goes.

"Matthew is the ultimate charmer. He is an outstanding actor, and a very handsome man whose good looks seem to be increasing with age.

And he has also been blessed with style. Not to mention a clever wit and boundless charisma. There could be no other face for The One for Men," oozed Stefano Gabbana.
