Malaysia’s football squad, Harimau Malaya's 3-1 win over Singapore's Lions team during the neck-to-neck match on Saturday has received a hotchpotch of reactions, the media social notwithstanding.
Hashtag #KeepeerKatMana is trending on Twitter following the third victorious stoppage penalty by Malaysia's Indra Putra Mahayuddin into an unprotected net which led Malaysia's triumph over Singapore.
The lyrics were taken from the pop song, ‘Awak Kat Mana’ popularised by Singaporean singer, Taufik Batisah following the incident where Singapore net was left unguarded.
The jubilant among Malaysian fans were evident largely expressed to celebrate the victory of Harimau Malaya squad under the leadership of coach Dollah Salleh during the match at the National Stadium in Kallang.
The social media is flooded with a string of messages by Malaysian football fans who thanked, congratulated the boys for their efforts in bringing the team a few steps away from winning the coveted Suzuki Cup trophy. Some quarters on the social media even went to the extent of manipulating a variety of images to show their excitement using hashtags #HarimauMalaya and #AFFSuzukiCup.
Striker Safee Sali is climbing the chart on Twitter. Even the most widely used term, ‘Sedition Act’ pales in comparison to this toast of the hour.

A stoppage-time penalty by Safiq Rahim and a shot by Indra Putra Mahayuddin into an unguarded net which led to the Lions elimination from the AFF Suzuki Cup 2014.
The Harimau Malaya squad will meet Group A winners Vietnam in the semi-final with the first leg on Dec 7 in Shah Alam, while Thailand, who emerged top in Group B with a perfect record after a 2-0 win over Laos at Jalan Besar Stadium will compete for the semi-final in Hanoi on Dec 11.
