Putin ready to discuss downing of MH17 with Najib: Kremlin

Russian President Vladimir Putin said he is ready to discuss the issue of the downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 in Ukraine two years ago with Datuk Seri Najib Razak, reported Reuters on Tuesday.

The matter was revealed by Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov who said that Putin will be discussing the issue with the visiting Malaysian Prime Minister this week.

"Should Malaysian representatives wish to discuss the topic of the Boeing, we certainly will also be ready to discuss it," Mr Ushakov said.

Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 was shot down by a Russian-made surface-to-air missile over eastern Ukraine in July 2014, killing all 298 passengers and crew on board the plane.

Najib will lead a Malaysian delegation to the Asean-Russia Commemorative Summit that will be held in Sochi, Russia on May 19 and 20.
