Berpuluh-puluh ekor kanggaru menggemparkan Canberra baru-baru ini apabila haiwan itu memenuhi ibu kota Australia itu susulan masalah kekurangan makanan.

Menurut laporan CNN, Pengarah Perkhidmatan Pemuliharan dan Taman, Wilayah Ibu Kota Australia (ACT), Daniel Iglesias, Canberra mempunyai lebih 30 rizab alam semulajadi dengan kebanyakannya memelihara beratus-ratus kanggaru jenis ‘Eastern Grey’.
Katanya, bukan sesuatu yang luar biasa melihat kanggaru jenis itu berkeliaran di luar pusat pemeliharaannya.
Bagaimanapun, kata Daniel, lebih banyak kanggaru keluar pada musim sejuk ini.
"Canberra kini mengalami keadaan cuaca yang menyusahkan spesies ini.
"Ini termasuk cuaca kering pada bulan Jun dan Julai yang menyebabkan kanggaru ini susah mendapat makanan," kata Daniel.
