An EgyptAir flight from Paris to Cairo had disappeared from radar, the airline said on Twitter today.

The MS804 flight is carrying 56 passengers. 3 security personnel, and 7 cabin crew, the airline said in a tweet.

The plane lost contact with radar at 02:45 Cairo time, the airline added.

In March, an EgyptAir was hijacked and forced to land in Cyprus by Seif al-Din Mohamed Mostafa, a 58-year-old Egyptian who has a Cypriot ex-wife.

Cyprus authorities have described Mostafa as "psychologically unstable" and said the case was not "terrorism-related".
