COVID: Indonesia records 437 fatalities in last 24 hours

JAKARTA: Indonesia once again recorded the number of daily deaths due to COVID-19 surpassing 400, with another 437 deaths in the last 24 hours.
According to data posted on the official twitter page of the Indonesian National Disaster Management Authority @BNPB_Indonesia today, the total number of deaths due to the pandemic has now increased to 41,669.
Banten province recorded the highest number of deaths in the past 24 hours, at 338 cases, followed by Central Java at 28 and the rest in other provinces.
The highest death toll thus far was on Jan 28, at 476 cases.
The number of positive cases in Indonesia has now risen to 1,534,255, with 1,375,877 having recovered.
Indonesia started its vaccination programme on Jan 13, with 8.6 million having received their first dose of the vaccine thus far, while more than 4 million have received their second dose.
