Poland's flag carrier Polish Airlines said it will soon put its newly acquired Boeing 787 Dreamliner into service, becoming the first country in Europe to fly the airliner.
The aircraft landed at Warsaw's Chopin International Airport on Thursday, Xinhua news agency reported.
Polish Airlines has ordered eight 787 planes with the next four due to be delivered early next year.
The airlines president Marcin Pirog said the airliner cost the company US$200 million (RM 614 million) and can accommodate 252 passengers in three-class sections.
The lighter Boeing 787-8 can reduce fuel consumption by 20 percent and concentration of oxygen in the cabin by eight percent.
The airlines plan to fly the aircraft between Warsaw and Prague later this year before extending its route to Chicago and Beijing early next year.
