Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) has appointed Tan Sri Syed Zainol Anwar Ibni Syed Putra Jamalullail, 65, as the new Chairman, effective June 7, 2017.
He is at present Chairman of Nestle (Malaysia) Bhd, Cahya Mata Sarawak Bhd, Malakoff Corporation Bhd, Lembaga Zakat Selangor and Pulau Indah Ventures Sdn Bhd, as well as Chancellor of SEGi University.
In a statement today, MAHB said Syed Zainol Anwar would succeed Tan Sri Dr Wan Abdul Aziz Wan Abdullah, whose contract as company Director and Chairman ends today.
"Under Wan Abdul Aziz's five-year stewardship, we have achieved significant achievements, such as the opening of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2), full acquisition of the Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport in Turkey, as well as the opening of Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA as a catalyst for the KLIA Aeropolis.
"His guidance and commitment at the board has also steered the company towards charting growth in the five-year business plan, Runway to Success 2020 (RtS2020), and launch of the KLIA Aeropolis Master Plan," it added.
