Ford today announced its best-ever performance in Malaysia in September, with retail sales rising 52 per cent to 1,183 units and 55 per cent higher to 3,697 units for the third quarter from the preceding quarter.

The automotive company said the stronger performance was driven by Ranger’s best-ever quarter and strong demand across Ford’s full lineup of vehicles.

Ford Motor Company, Malaysia and Asia Pacific Emerging Markets, Managing Director, David Westerman said the Ranger pickup truck remained its best-selling vehicle nameplate in Malaysia with September retail sales surging 48 per cent year-on-year to 745 units.

"The unmatched safety and capability of this extraordinary truck is really defining the pickup segment in the market today, and helping to further drive its appeal in Malaysia," he said in a statement.

Ford’s overall year-to-date retail sales keeps it on track for a record sales year in Malaysia.

"With a growing line-up of global Ford vehicles in Malaysia and fast-growing customer base, we are continuing to further enhance our aftersales offerings as well as continuing to expand our dealer network so that we are providing the very best customer and ownership experience," he added.
