Assurance on salary increase in July will motivate civil servants - Cuepacs sec-gen

The additional salary increment for civil servants this July will motivate the 1.6 million civil servants in the
country to further boost the delivery system, said Cuepacs secretary-general Datuk Lok Yim Pheng.
She said it would also help civil servants to cope with the rising cost of living.
"Cuepacs was initially worried whether the additional salary increment would come through ... with the promise by the government that it would go ahead with the provision of the additional increment, we are very relieved and thankful.
"This relief will be felt more by the groups in the lower grades, like those with PMR and SPM qualifications," she said.
Yesterday, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa had given he assurance that the government would go ahead with the additional increment on July 1 even through faced with a difficult economic situation.
