AirAsia X launched its maiden service to the United States today with the introduction of the Hawaii route.
The long haul subsidiary of the world’s leading low-cost airline will commence the route this June 28 operating four times weekly from Kuala Lumpur to Honolulu via Osaka, Japan.
The airline’s Group CEO Datuk Kamarudin Meranun said in celebration of the newly launched destination, AirAsia X is offering fares starting from RM499.
"The promotion will begin on February 11 until February 26, 2017 for travel dates from June 28, 2017 until February 6, 2018.
"Award-winning Flatbed Premium seats are also being offered from as low as RM2,999 for the duration of the campaign," Kamarudin said.
Passengers transiting in Osaka do not need a visa to enter Japan for the two-hour stopover and can go back to their seats on the plane after the clearance of the security inspections.
However, Japanese visa is required for guests who opt for the Multi-City option which allows them to spend a few days in Osaka before travelling onwards to Honolulu, he added.
“Passengers can also make use of AirAsia's Fly-Thru service to connect seamlessly to Honolulu from other cities within AirAsia and AirAsia X’s extensive flight network with just one additional stop,” said Kamarudin.
Also present at the launch were were AirAsia X Bhd's CEO Benyamin Ismail; Representative Director and Co-CEO of Kansai Airports, Emmanuel Menanteau; Hawaii Tourism Japan Vice President Mitsue Varley; and reigning Miss Hawaii, Allison Chu. -- Bernama
